Emergency Funds and Summer School Funds
For Active Evanston Scholars

Picture

Emergency Funds

The Emergency Fund is intended for active Evanston Scholars to apply for in case they need emergency money to pay for continuing their education. Funds should be used solely for the purposes of continuing education -- tuition, books, housing, transportation, school fees, and other expenditures that will prevent or avert a crisis and/or support Scholars to persist towards college graduation. The funds should be used as a last resort when other efforts -- such as self-funding, family funding, and/or funding from a college -- have not succeeded in meeting financial needs, and the student's ongoing educational progress is threatened or limited.

Requests should be made to the College Success Director. An Evanston Scholars staff committee will review all requests to determine if the request meets the criteria.  Please understand that the Evanston Scholars Organization wants ALL of our Scholars to succeed, and that we don’t want small financial hurdles to get in the way of finishing school. On the other hand, we also want to make sure that Scholars are becoming financially responsible.
