College Access (High School)
​We work comprehensively with high school Scholars to help them identify, apply to, and enroll in a "good fit" college.

Indiana University is a good fit for me because I can participate in a work-study program in its vigorous business school while also having lots of extracurricular opportunities.

  • College visits and access to summer college and fly-in opportunities
  • ACT prep class taught by a reputable ACT tutoring firm​
  • Cohort-building activities
Workshops throughout junior and senior year, including:
  • Finding a "good fit" college
  • College preparation and essay bootcamp
  • Financial literacy and scholarship opportunities
  • Resume and interviewing skills
  • Budgeting for and transitioning to college

College Success (College):
Our college success team maintains close contact with our Scholars throughout their undergraduate years to ensure persistence, academic success, and access to internships and professional opportunities.

  • Ongoing communication with adult mentors and staff through college graduation
  • A 1:1 meeting each semester with ES staff to check in on academics, finances, and college life in general
    • Continual contact with each Scholar throughout the academic year to share and promote skills essential for college success
  • 1:1 peer mentoring
  • Circle of Honor for students with a 3.0+ GPA
  • "Tuesdays in July"
    • Weekly summer gatherings for all Scholars
  • Access to internship opportunities, resume building, networking, and job searching assistance
  • Opportunities to model and be recognized for PERCCs
