Caryn Summer

Picture

With a passion for equal educational opportunity, along with experience in community service, design and project management, Caryn joined Evanston Scholars in 2013 as a volunteer Program Coordinator, and then in August 2014 she became a member of the staff. Serving first in College Access, and more recently in College Success, Caryn has managed many aspects of the Access and Success programs including ACT preparation, essay writing, financial aid, course selection, resumes and summer jobs. 

Caryn has over twenty years of professional and community service experience, including eight years as a commissioner on the Wilmette Appearance Review Commission, and serving as a member of the Wilmette Streetscape and Public Art committees. Caryn earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Caryn is married and has three sons, two who have graduated college and one who is just starting.
